This year, the Union of B.C. Municipalities met in Vancouver from Sept. 25th to 30th. From Nakusp, councillors Leitch, Mueller, our CAO and I attended. We had several meetings scheduled with various ministries, making our schedule very busy, probably one of the busiest UBCM’s I have attended.

RCMP release names of injured in Highway 23 MVI

Nakusp RCMP have now released the names of two men critically injured in a pickup truck rollover north of Nakusp on Saturday night or Sunday morning. Cst. Mark Macaulay identified the men as Daryl Travis Thomson, 25, of Revelstoke, B.C. and Philip George Walker, 37, or Trail, B.C.

Attorney General Shirley Bond has ordered Crown prosecutors to ask judges to allow TV and radio coverage of court proceedings for those accused of participating in the Stanley Cup riot in June. But even if it happens, it will be highly restricted.
