This weekend, the holiday frenzy steps up a notch or two at the annual Falcons Cup in Nakusp.

The hockey reunion event, for current and former local players, is set for Saturday and Sunday with the draft of players for the teams to be held today.

Along with the chase for the title and bragging rights for the year, several individual marks are worthy of note (from Kyle Kusch’s incredible statistics). Chad Hicks has played the most games, 31, with Bryan Hewat at 30. Hicks has been on the most championship teams, six, with Kalum Stevens on five.

Riley Weatherhead is the top scorer heading into the eighth annual event with 25 goals and 29 assists, the leader in both categories. Seth Leonard has 21 goals and leads in points-per-game with 1.94.

Mike Smith, in just 16 games, is the penalty leader with 51 minutes in the sin bin.
