William James (Bill) Robison died on Wednesday, May 11th at the age of 72.

Bill, son of H. Barrie and Jean Robison, was born in Golden, BC on August 1st, 1938. Bill received a degree in education from the University of British Columbia, and was a teacher, coach, and principal in School District number 10 for over 30 years. Over his career, he taught three generations of children in the Nakusp school system. Bill’s passion for education remained with him even after his retirement in 1995. Until his health began to decline, Bill devoted as many as 35 hours per week to tutoring children in Nakusp – without ever accepting payment. Bill was a longtime resident of Nakusp, and enjoyed fishing, stamp collecting, and learning new things.

Bill is survived by his two sons, Barrie (and wife Leslie) and Zane, his grandsons Jacob and Nicholas, and his brother Bert and family. A memorial service to celebrate Bill’s life was held at the Nakusp Secondary School gymnasium on May 16th.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the Bill Robison Memorial Scholarship Fund, care of the Nakusp branch of the CIBC.
