March 4, 1941 - February 23, 2022
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Verna Chernoff (Makortoff) on February 23, 2022 at the Kelowna General Hospital after a long battle with Cancer.
Verna was born in Grand Forks on March 4, 1941 and is survived by her husband John Chernoff, son Ryan, wife Chelsey, her granddaughter Sophie whom she loved very much.
Verna is also survived by her brother Paul (Marlene) Makortoff , sisters Phyllis Gritchen and Helen Perry and brother-in law Bill Koftinoff .
She was predeceased by her parents Nick S. and Florence Makortoff , sisters Maureen Koftinoff , Susan Makortoff and brother-in-laws George Gritchen and Phil Perry.
Verna had countless nephews, nieces, and friends who will miss her love and generosity.
At the request of Verna, only a small funeral with immediate family was held.
