PEAT: On Tuesday, May 12, 2009 Samuel Spencer Peat of Fauquier, BC passed away at the age of 86 years.
Mr. Peat was born in Bella Coola, BC on February 28, 1923 to Samuel and Hilda Peat.
He moved with his wife Pauline to Fauquier, BC in 1991 from Vancouver. While in Vancouver, he was one of the founding members of the Pathfinders Hiking Club. He loved people, the mountains, hiking and skiing.
Besides his wife Pauline, Mr. Peat is survived by his children Terry Speller of Washington State, Graham Peat of Vancouver, Maggie (Louie) Albert of Richmond, Barbara (John) Bachelor of Delta, Lorrayne Emory of Kamloops, step children Alice White (Danny Devlin) of Fauquier, Barbara White (Michael Whittaker) of Vancouver, Sheila (Alan) Corbett of Salmon Arm, Crystal (Curtis) Watson of Fauquier, many nieces and nephews, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, three sisters Mary Jones of Victoria, Kay Renton of Calgary, and Ruth Robinson of Shaunavon, Sk.
A celebration tea will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2009 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Fauquier Hall. Cremation has taken place.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Valley Funeral Home Ltd.
