1918 to 2007 ? passed away peacefully at Dawson Creek District Hospital on December 12th , at the age of 87 years, following a brief illness. Born in Nelson, Ruth was raised in the Arrow Lakes area where she met and married her husband, George (deceased - 2004). The majority of Ruth's life following her marriage was spent in the Kamloops area, and then on South Vancouver Island where she was employed as a jewelry salesperson until her retirement. She and George moved to the Tumbler Ridge area in 2004 to be near family. Ruth is survived by two sons, Dale and David (Gloria), 6 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren, along with 5 siblings (2 sisters, 2 brothers, and 1 step-brother). Interment will be at Hatley Park Memorial Gardens in Victoria, and a memorial service will be held in the Duncan area at a later date. Those who so wish may make a donation, in Ruth's name, to the Canadian Cancer Society.
