Roderick John Kerr

Born and raised in Nakusp. Married nurse Ruby Berard in 1950 in Nakusp. Worked as a forest ranger in Fernie and Kettle Valley, transferred to Prince George for 10 years and then to Vancouver, where he worked as a Forestry Supervisor for 10 years. He then worked as a Forestry Instructor at BCIT for 15 years. He loved Nakusp, however, and returned at least annually from Vancouver to visit his old friends. He was also a retired veteran and served our country in World War 2. He was also a Mason and Shriner.

He is survived by his wife Ruby, children Maxine, Peggy, Jack, Duncan, Lorna and Gordon; grandchildren Maureen, Lorraine, Robbie, Lisa, Leah, Andy and Gordon;

daughters-in-law Mary and Linda and son-in-law, Peter.

He enjoyed his retirement and spent a lot of time in both Nakusp and Hawaii, another place he loved. Per his wishes, his remains will be laid to rest at the Legion cemetery in Nakusp.

Services were July 22nd, 3:00 pm at the Legion Hall.
