In Loving Memory ~
Bob's was an adventure that started in the Donovan in Sudbury, on to Toronto, thru Kilworthy, and finally to his beloved Nakusp.
Bob journeyed from Newfoundland to the Alaskan panhandle and from Thompson Manitoba to the Arctic circle in the country he loved. Ever the raconteur and teller of tall tales, there was always a conversation to be had with strangers and friends along the way.
A 4-month journey in a Winnebago with 3 kids, a wife, and a dog. A pony in the kitchen. A burning boat at a barn party. Santa Claus in the ditch. A bean bag chair on the bear rug in front of the fireplace. Purple wall to wall carpet in the office.
A belly boat pilot extraordinaire, a forager of mushrooms and huckleberries, a slayer of trout. A winner of coin tosses and a drinker of rum. A maverick Euchre partner, Blue Jay fan and serial entrepreneur. A man who talked to dogs in full sentences.
Bob was a lot of things to a lot of people but, most importantly, Bob was a husband for 66 years to Phoebe, father to Jody, Jennifer and Jonathon, and grandfather to Kody, Severin and Curtis. He shared his last meal with Phoebe and passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 26, 2024.
The family would like to thank the kind staff and volunteers from ASLCS, the Pavilion in New Denver, Bob's doctors, Dr. Lea and Dr. Stitch and the amazing community members of Nakusp.
