In loving memory ~
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend.
Phyllis grew up in Winlaw, B.C. before moving to Needles B.C. to work at the Needles General Store.
While in Needles Phyllis met Ron Volansky. They were married in 1959 and made their home in Needles and Fauquier, where they raised their four sons. Together, Ron and Phyllis were active in the communities of Needles and Fauquier. They were very involved in the development and expansion of the Fauquier Golf Club. Phyllis was proud of the work she and the ladies did each year planting many beautiful flowers around the golf course. Phyllis was a member of the Needles/Fauquier Women's Institute. She enjoyed baking, crafts, gardening, puzzles and playing ten pennies with her grandchildren.
"Grandma Phyl", as she was known to her family was adored by her sons and grandchildren. She had a kind heart and unconditional love for others. She was a proud, brave woman with a strength and toughness that was admired by those who knew her.
Phyllis had a fierce love for her family and was extremely proud of each and everyone. Her favorite times were having family together and visiting. She was always interested in knowing what was happening in her families lives.
Phyllis was predeceased by her husband Ron, her mother, father, brother Maurice, and sisters Joan and Beattie.
Phyllis will be lovingly remembered by her sons Brent, Blair (Anne), Rodney (Crystal), and Ronald (Gina). Her grandchildren Tyson (Tiya), Blaine (Andrea), Kyle (Hannah), Bre (Mike), Maria, Quentin (Michelle) and Adam. Great-Grandchildren: Zacora, Kaori, Laiken, Nate, Eva, Everly, Sloan, Raena. Her sister Betty, brothers Art, Sid & Willie and many nieces and nephews of both the Settle family and Volansky family.
The family would like to thank Halcyon Assisted Living and the Arrow Lakes Hospital for the remarkable care and compassion.
A celebration of life tea will be held in her memory at the Edgewood Legion Saturday April 30, 2022 at 2:00pm.
"Grandma Phyl" will be sadly missed and forever in our hearts.
"Oh, she's an angel, let her fly, let her fly, ooh, she's an angel, let her fly"
