OLSON: Peter
born December 14, 1922 at home at Galena Bay, passed away at home June 25, 2005 in Nakusp, BC at the age of 82. Funeral service was held June 28, 2005.
Pete was a logger, trapper, cat operator and farmer. He loved to talk and visit and for a small man could sure put the grub away. He always had time for anybody that needed his help or time
and would help others before doing for himself many times. He did quite a bit of travelling after he met and married his wife Rochelle and he went to the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto, Niagara Falls, Yellowstone Park, Crate Lake, Grand Canyon, Shasta Caverns, Oregon Coast and Redwoods of California. He was fascinated with picking oranges, lemons, grapefruit and pomegranates off the trees when visiting down in California. There were many other things that he saw and visited and he also loved taking two of his grandchildren to Disneyland and seeing the expressions on their faces and the enjoyment they had there. He loved running cats and even had his own D7 which he used to log and clear land on his property and that of friends. He also had another great love which was his dog Sadie, who idolized him. He took her everywhere with him and for a man who had said he would never have a dog in any vehicle with him, she sure wasn’t left behind very much when he went someplace. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Pete is survived by his wife Rochelle, four sons and nine grandchildren, Son Scott (Marion) grandchildren Meagan and Brandon; Son Chris (Wendy) grandchildren Nathan, Jordan and Kristy and their mother Mary Jo Leitz and Ryan, Son Darryl (Bobbie) grandchildren Cal, Casey, Cassandra, Son John, two Sisters Winnifred and Nancy and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
