Peter Dale EWART

Peter Ewart of Nakusp, B.C. passed away peacefully at his home with his family at his side Oct. 14, 2004.

Peter was born in Penticton, B.C. on April 18, 1920. He followed in his father’s footsteps and went to work for the Fish and Game Dept. at the fish hatchery in Nelson, B.C. On Aug. 14, 1942 he enlisted in the Army and took his basic training in Vernon, B.C. He was shipped overseas as a loader/operator, gunner and radio operator in the tank corp. He was discharged on March 2, 1946 and received the Military Medal on July 1, 1947 in recognition of gallant and distinguished conduct in the field. He returned to work at the Fish & Game Dept. until he retired in 1980. He enjoyed camping and fishing with family and friends and travelling.

He was predeceased by his wife Emily in 1997. He is survived by his children Sandra Dryden, Dale Marcolli (Herb), Patricia Bennett, Wayne Peppard (Diane), and Donna Peppard; 16 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and his travelling companion Scooby.

He will be sadly missed and never forgotten by family and friends. No service by request. A memorial tea in his memory will be held at the Legion Hall in Nakusp on Saturday, October 23, 2004 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
