Margaret Lily “Peggy” Olsen (nee Murphy/Nelson)
April 27, 1918 - December 19, 2010
Peggy passed away peacefully in the Lacombe Hospital and Care Center with her loving family by her side.
Peggy was born in Red Deer, Alberta on April 27, 1918 to Janet & James Murphy. When she was nine the family moved to Erickson, B.C.. Peggy married Gunnar Nelson on June 25, 1941. They had 2 daughters Marion and Maureen and lived on the family farm in Canyon. Gunnar passed away on September 24, 1966. Peggy then sold the farm and lived in Erickson for a number of years. She moved to Revelstoke where she owned her own business and it was there she met and married John Olsen. They moved to Nakusp and lived there until they moved to Bentley, AB to be close to her daughters and families.
Peggy was predeceased by her loving husband Gunnar, parents Janet & James Murphy, brother John Murphy, sister Lou Samueson and husband John Olsen.
Peggy leaves to mourn Maureen (Allan) Ellard; Marion (Alex) Borgford; brother Maurie (Irene) Murphy, 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and a large, extended, very loved family.
We will be having a gathering of family to celebrate Peggy’s life in Erickson, B.C. at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be made through www.wilsonsfuneralchapel.ca
