Margaret Nelson
Our beloved friend, Margaret, passed away at the Rocky Mountain Village in Fernie, B.C. on July 12, 2011.
She was born in Nakusp, on June 10, 1917 and grew up in Arrowhead on the Arrow Lakes. Margaret worked at the Government Agent's Office in the Fernie Court House for 30 years. Upon retirement in 1974, she moved to Galena Bay, and then to Nakusp. When she could no longer manage in her home in Nakusp, she moved to Fernie to be with the Letcher family with whom she had spent 30 years and had become a part of.
Margaret is predeceased by her parents, Agnes and John, brothers Walter, John and Henry and sister-in-law Hilda Nelson.
She will be missed and fondly remembered by Joyce Letcher (George "Bud" 1999) of Fernie, Joan & John Friend of Kamloops, Patsy & Chris Osselton of Victoria, their extended families and many friends in Nakusp and Fernie.
A service of remembrance was held in Fernie on July 14, 2011. A memorial service and celebration of Margaret's life will be held at Robertson United Church in Nakusp on a date to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, if desired, a donation to a charity of your choice or Robertson United Church in Nakusp would be appreciated.
