Karolina was born in Slovenia. She served in the war after studying in the retail business. She met Milan and married a year later in 1947. They searched for a new life and found it in Canada, she followed him in 1957. She broke through early feelings of homesickness by immersing herself in family and tending her beloved flower and vegetable garden in Kitimat. The next 28+ years they lived their dream in their beautiful retirement home in Burton. She worked diligently and with determination enjoying each step of a task as evidence of her love of God. Gardening was her passion and nourishment, her love, cooking and baking was ours. Her beloved friends at church and Sunday worship helped to strengthen her.
