John (Jock) Gordon WALKER

John (Jock) Gordon Walker born in Whitlaw, Alberta passed away peacefully on Monday, March 14th at the age of 85 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Betty, son David of Kelowna, grandchildren Launa of Sqaumish and Michael of Coquitlam and three great grandchildren Ian, Rick and Anna. Jock is also survived by a sister Lilian of Vernon and predeceased by brothers Jim and Ben and sisters Phyllis and Peggy.

Jock moved to Burton at the age of 16 and joined the army in 1940. On his return he married Betty in 1947 in Burton where they continued to live until 1960 when they moved to Nakusp. After retiring in 1974 he enjoyed many years of traveling, gardening and carpentry and he was well known for playing darts. A memorial service was held on March 18th at the Nakusp Legion Hall where he was lovingly remembered by many friends and family.
