Henry Lloyd Parkyn was born on February 9, 1922 in Calgary, Alberta. He went to be with his Lord on April 20, 2010 in Nakusp BC at the age of 88. Lloyd is predeceased by his parents, Edgar & Amy Parkyn, wife Dorothy and one son, Leslie. He is survived by his loving wife, Lenora, children - Joan (Jim) Bayne, Lois Caissie, Richard (Linda) Parkyn, Chris (Linda) Prediger, Jewlie Milligan, one sister Evelyn (Herb) Martin as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.


Lloyd came to Burton with his parents in 1922 and lived most of his life in Burton, BC with a short time in the R.C.A.F. He was a man of many skills and talents. A business man all of his life, he had a logging company and operated Burton Service which included a garage with gas pumps, a coffee shop, the post office, groceries, insurance as well as a variety of other goods for sale.


His love of horses was exhibited by his ownership of horses and his years of involvement in gymkhanas. Lloyd’s neighborliness was well known over the years. He was very involved in the community with special memories of dressing up and acting in skits.


He will be greatly missed by all.
