Guy was born in Trail and raised and lived in Nakusp for his entire life - spending his last few months in Kelowna. Following in his father and sisters footsteps Guy played hockey as a child and was a Boy Scout. Guy also enjoyed building model airplanes and rockets as a young person.
After graduating high school in Nakusp, Guy attended cooking school and worked as a cook in Kananaskis. Of the variety of jobs Guy had the one he liked most was working at Columbia River Shake and Shingle.
During the latter part of his life he worked as a care attendant for a local family in Nakusp and for Community Works.
Guy is predeceased by his mother and father - Margaret and Harvey, and his sister Cathy. Left behind to remember Guy are his brother Craig (Amber), his nieces Maggie, Gwen, Mary and nephew John, as well as uncles Garry, Harvey and Lloyd (Trudy), and friends, neighbours and community members in Nakusp.
Guy's family is very grateful to Dr. Paul Nickerson for going above and beyond by assuming the care of Guy during his final months in Kelowna and also thankful to the staff at Central Okanagan Hospice and Palliative Care Programs for their care and compassion.
Donations in lieu of flowers to Arrow and Slocan Lake Community Services/Community Works, Nakusp BC VOG 1R0 - attention Margaret Driscoll.
