Gladys (nee Orr) Walton

March 30, 2016

Passed away at Minto House in Nakusp BC aged 97.

Gladys was born to Frank and Minnie (Frank) Orr in Calgary AB and grew up in the High River and Stavely area. She spent the early 1940’s in Toronto and became an inspector at a munitions plant. After the war she visited her parents in Burton BC where she met Edward (Ted) Walton and married him in 1947. She lived in, and was very active in the community of Burton until after Ted’s death. In 1999 she moved to Nakusp and ultimately to Minto House.

Gladys loved to travel. She and Ted did camper trips throughout BC. After his death she discovered tours and cruises with family and friends from Burton.

Gladys outlived her brothers and sisters. She had no children but is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of life will be held for Gladys at the Burton Community Hall on May 21, 2016 at 2:00. A tea will follow.

Special thanks to the staff of Minto House who provided her final home.
