Frederick John WENSLEY

January 15, 2005

Frederick John Wensley passed away peacefully at Halcyon Home on Saturday, January 15, 2005 at the age of 97 years. Fred was born on August 11, 1907 in New Denver. He loved the outdoors, animals, and the study of math and science with particular interest in astronomy. Fred was predeceased by his wife Rose, daughter Lorraine Dalzell, infant grandson Scott Dalzell, sisters Winnie Gaites and Enid Shelling, and nephews Fred Pigott and Ernest Shelling. He is survived by his son Jack Wensley of Salmo, grandchildren Mike Dalzell of Kelowna and Sue Dalzell of Calgary, great-granddaughter Keva Dalzell of Calgary, sister Vera Pigott of Nakusp, and numerous other relatives and their families. Fred was cremated and this spring will privately (no service) be returned to the earth of the mountain overlooking the land homesteaded by his parents, his lifelong home. For this privilege, we would like to extend a special thanks to Renata Neftin. Also, many thanks to all the staff at Halcyon Home for their years of wonderful care and kindness. As most of Fred’s immediate family live outside the Nakusp area, we would like to extend our sincerest appreciation to all those that gave of their time to visit with Fred. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to any animal rescue or humane society of your choosing.
