August 8, 1958 - April 15, 2024
Alfred Werner Schneeberger passed away at 65 years old after a 2-year battle with an undiagnosed neurodegenerative disease.
He is survived by his wife Martha, sister Sylvia (Urs Waeckerlin), 4 kids Becca, Ryan, Brendan (Cassidy) with grandsons Jake + Scotty, and Ben (Kirsten) with a granddaughter on the way. Fred was a loving husband & father defined by his dependability, honesty, Christian faith, & hard work.
He grew up in Nakusp where he worked as a tree faller & built his own log cabin on Arrow Lake. Moving to Chilliwack after meeting Martha, he started Fred & Sons Plumbing Ltd which he ran there for 25 years & raised a family in the childhood home they purchased off her parents atop Little Mountain (recognizable flat roof with a Christmas light star).
An outdoorsman, Fred loved skiing with his kids every weekend in the winter, taking the family out boating every summer, regularly fishing the Fraser River, & operating his "toys" e.g., skid steer. He & Martha enjoyed many tropical vacations, with kids tagging along on a few while most of the full crew getaways were saved for camping adventures or longer trips in the motorhome.
A Celebration of Life will be held May 11, 10 am-1 pm at Main Street Church. Service details, the full eulogy, & keepsakes such as copies of the slideshow, are available by request - brendan.schneeberger@gmail.com
