REITER, Etta
With great sadness our family shares with you the passing of a wife, mom, grandmother and great grandmother. Etta passed away peacefully, on Monday, April 4, 2011, in her home with family and friends by her side, after a battle with cancer.
Etta’s journey brought her to Canada from Hungary at a young age in 1956 with her husband George Reiter. She devoted her life to the raising of her eight children. Her passion was her 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren whose lives she touched deeply. She was an exemplary cook, enjoyed bowling, gardening, days at the beach, card nights with her girlfriends. Her warm smile and “Reiter eyes” will always be remembered. Our family extends its deepest appreciation and thanks to the doctors and nurses who cared for our mother during her stay at the Kelowna hospital.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to BC Canadian Cancer Society, 1633 Pandosy Street, Kelowna, BC V1Y 1P6 or Cancer Centre for the Southern Interior, 399 Royal Avenue, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 5L3.
