Elgan “Red” Bone

April 30, 1929 - February 13, 2011

Elgan “Red” Bone passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 13, 2011 at his home in Summerland, BC. He will be missed deeply and remembered dearly by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Joan, his brother Bert, his fifteen children, thirty-two grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. He will be greeted in heaven by two of his children, Robert and Velma, three of his brothers and his two sisters.

Red was born in Magrath, Alberta on April 30, 1929. Red, as he was known as, was the proud patriarch of a large family. He was a hard worker that took whatever job came his way to support his family; he was largely known to be a logging truck driver and an orchardist in his later years. Red was a great friend to many and always left his door open and a place set for dinner for those that stopped by.

In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the BC Cancer Society.
