Born in Ernfold, Saskatchewan on July 29, 1920 Ed grew up on a farm in that area. In 1939 he came to Edgewood to visit his brother and that is where he met Marvel Lewtas, whom he married in 1941. During World War Two, he served overseas in England, Holland and Northern Europe.
Returning home to Edgewood in 1945, they bought a farm and settled in with their two daughters, Sheila and Terryl. A son Keith was born in 1949.
During the earlier years he used to play a fiddle in a band for dances. Ed worked as a farmer, a logger and later was on the road crew. Horses were his hobby and he spent many years training and riding them. He was still riding them at the age of 83 with his friend Bonnie Spence.
Ed was predeceased by his parents, grandson Garth in 1987 and wife Marvel in 1990. He is survived by daughters Sheila(Lorne), Terryl(Banjo), son Keith(Bernice), grandsons Arron(Sherry), Kin, great grandchildren Kyle and Kirsty, sister Lois and Leora and numerous nieces and nephews.
