After a valiant struggle with cancer, Christina passed away on Monday, May 17, 2004 at Arrow Lakes Hospital in Nakusp, B.C. with family by her side. She leaves behind husband Jacob, two sons Robert and Timothy (Laura) grand-daughter Hilary, daughter Shannon (Rick) and a half sister Vivain.
Christina was born in Port Alberni, BC on June 20, 1936 to parents James and Dorthy Nelson. In 1948, Christina’s parents settled in Quesnel and met her future husband Jacob (Jake). She married Jake in 1954 and raised Robert, Timothy and Shannon. In 1991, Jake retired and moved to Nakusp in 1992. Christina enjoyed being with her family and friends, reading, gardening, her cats, the beauty of the area of where she lived and many other things to list that she enjoyed.
Christina will be sadly missed by family and friends. Thanks go out to the doctors and the nursing staff who took care of Christina during her stay in the hospital. Extended thanks to the people who stood behind us (the family) in time of need. You know who you are.
Memorial services were held in Nakusp Pentecostal Church and a tea was held at the Seniors Centre on May 22, 2004. Christina will be interred with her parents at Keremeos, BC.
