May 10, 1926 - September 15, 2020
Angela Anna Robazza (but known to all as Angelina) was born in Trevignano, Treviso in Italy, the youngest of nine, six boys and three girls. The family moved to Grado in 1943. It was there that Angelina met Virginio DeBoni "Nino" her husband of 63 years and the two were married on April 2, 1945. Not easy with a war going on! Angelina's oldest brother Tilio had emigrated to Canada in 1923 and offered to help bring a family member to Canada. In 1951 the young couple with their two young children were able to take advantage of the offer and they settled in Burton. A lot of good friends were made in Burton - and two more children were born. The Keenleyside Dam however, meant their farm would be under water and so in 1967 they moved into a new house in Nakusp.
Friends will remember Angelina for her hard work (loved her garden), her love of children, her devotion to the Catholic Church, and her competitive spirit evident in golfing, curling, bowling, and in many card games.
She was predeceased by Nino in 2008. She leaves her children, Walt (Irene), Gino (Linda), Charlie (Gayle), and Judy Desrochers (Joe); grandchildren, Ross (Jill Zelmanovits), Neil (Ginger), Lisa (Keven Brown-John), Michael, Leanne (Jeremy Barham), Gina, Kayla (Dustin Charest), Keith (Carly Slater), Kevin (Samantha Uter), and Curtis, and great grandchildren Helen and Luke DeBoni, Derek and Diego DeBoni, Kylie Brown-John, Mallory and Cadence Barham, and Jacen and Quinn McGuffin.
Always remembered and loved by all who know her as Mom, Grandma, Nonna, Zia, Angelina, Mamma Boni or Mrs. D.
The family would like to thank extended family, friends and neighbors who have helped Angelina over the years. She could not have lived on her own for so long without your help. Thanks also to the staff at Arrow Lakes Hospital and at Halcyon Home.
Due to COVID, a private service for immediate family will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when it is safe to do so.
