Vandals defaced signs and part of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses on 1st Avenue in Nakusp some time late at night on May 11, 2012.
Obscenities were scratched into the side door of the building, and there was some damage done to signs as well, said Corporal Ryan Fehler of the Nakusp Detachment.
“There was nothing targeting Jehovah Witnesses,” he detailed, stating that this was being viewed as vandalism and not a hate crime.
Although none of the neighbours in the area saw anything, the RCMP were able to pick up forensic evidence from the scene, including fingerprints, said Fehler. The police would like to talk with anyone who may have any information about the vandalism.
