Snow, rain and slush made for dangerous driving south of Nakusp yesterday.

RCMP in New Denver say two separate motor vehicle accidents occurred in the late afternoon near Hills - one sending two people to hospital.

In the first accident, a car travelling southbound just after Hills lost control on a curve and went off the road, rolling into the ditch.

The occupants were able to get out of the vehicle unhurt.

A little later on the same stretch of road, a pickup truck heading south lost control on a curve and slid into the northbound lane. It collided with an SUV. While the driver of the pickup didn’t sustain any injuries, the two occupants of the SUV were taken to Arrow Lakes Hospital with unknown injuries.

Police say driving conditions were poor at the time. No charges are being considered in either case at this point.

“The RCMP want to remind people to slow down this time of year, road conditions can change quickly in this weather,” says Const. Corey Chaloner.

On Wednesday Drive BC was reporting slushy conditions all along Highway 6 South, as the temperature hovered around the freezing mark.
