Kootenays under severe thunderstorm warning

Environment Canada has issued a weather alert for the region

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the West Kootenay and Kootenay Lake regions.

The warning issued Wednesday afternoon calls for a storm that could include strong winds, “pea to dime size hail” and heavy rain.

The warning also extends to the East Kootenay and Elk Valley regions.
