A mud slide closed Highway 6 south of Nakusp overnight, but the road opened this morning to single-lane alternating traffic.

At least one chip truck was caught in the torrent.

The slide occurred about 20 kilometres from Nakusp.

Transportation authorities expect to update the situation again on Tuesday, July 26 at 4 p.m.

There have been several debris torrents at the location in recent years.
