There were plenty of eggs to be found

Though the weather was a little chilly, Nakusp’s Rotary Park was full on Sunday as children of all ages came out for the annual Easter egg hosted by Overwaitea Foods.

Using brightly coloured ribbon as dividers, the park was sectioned off into two parts. One section was for children ages 0-5, while the other section was for children ages 6-12.

Children waited eagerly with anticipation as 12 p.m. drew near, the official start time for the hunt.

As soon as they were given the all clear, they dashed through the park, picking up eggs wherever they could be found.

Among those in attendance at the egg hunt was the Easter Bunny himself, who took the time to say “hi,” and hand out chocolate to the kids.

After the hunt was over, everyone gathered at the gazebo for the hot dog sale put on by Overwaitea Foods.

The sale was organized to raise money in order to pledge local teen Avery Spavor, as she prepares to take part in the Vancouver Sun Run. Spavor is using the Sun Run to raise money for the B.C. Cancer Foundation.

The sale lasted for about an hour and fifteen minutes, and just over $900 was raised.
