Last night’s heavy snowfall is creating headaches for hydro crews in the Arrow Lakes area.

BC Hydro is reporting seven downed power lines in the area, all likely caused by trees falling on lines.

Most of Edgewood is without power this morning, and there are downed lines from Galena Bay to Needles.

School has been cancelled today in Edgewood.

Hydro says the outages have left over 350 people in the dark this morning.

BC Hydro has assigned crews to deal with the problems, but won’t have service staff out to some locations until later today.

Meanwhile DriveBC reports no major problems on Highway 6 either north-south or east-west, though both sections of the highway have compact snow, and slushy sections.
