Caboose and plow arrival delayed

The delay was announced to the Nakusp Rail Committee about a week before the pieces were due to be transported.

Those who have been waiting for the Canada Pacific Rail (CPR) caboose and plow to come to Nakusp will have to wait a little bit longer.

The Nakusp Rail Committee were hoping to have the two pieces of machinery installed at the railbed site in time for Canada Day celebrations, but a week before they were due to be transported from Revelstoke, the committee was notified they would only be able to transport the pieces after 11 p.m., due to the fact that it is now tourist season, and many cars would be travelling along the highway between Revelstoke and Nakusp.

It is now estimated the caboose and plow will make it to Nakusp around the end of July.
