UPDATE: 17 patients infected with COVID-19 at Kootenay Lake Hospital

A COVID-19 outbreak has closed the third floor of Kootenay Lake Hospital to visitors.

Interior Health says 11 patients were initially infected after the outbreak was declared on Jan. 1. That number has since grown to 17 patients as of Jan. 9.

Non-essential visitors won’t be allowed to visit the floor for the duration of the outbreak.
