Copeland Creek fire, June 19.

A small blaze that was discovered June 18 north of Revelstoke has since been controlled and extinguished by BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) crews over recent weeks.

The wildfire was an estimated 0.009 hectares in size — smaller than a tennis court — and burning in the Copeland Creek area.

According to BCWS, the suspected cause of the fire was lightning, which caused it to burn out of control for several days before BCWS contained it and fully doused it by last week.

No area restrictions or evacuation orders associated with this fire were put in place.
