The free hourly ferry service between Upper Arrow Lake's Shelter Bay and Galena Bay may see intermittent delays Thursday (May 1) as it undergoes an annual safety inspection.
After posting late last week about possible delays May 1, WaterBridge Ferries confirmed with Black Press Media on Tuesday, April 29, that the inspection could cause possible service delays over the course of several hours.
WaterBridge staff noted that the ferry's safety inspection isn't currently posted to DriveBC because delays aren't yet known or guaranteed, but that motorists can nonetheless visit drivebc.ca for updates.
The Upper Arrow Lake Ferry is a motor vehicle ferry that connects Highway 23 across the lake with 30-minute passages, running every day from 5:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. the next day. The ferry departs Shelter Bay on the west side on the hour, and departs Galena Bay on the east side on the half hour.
