House fire in Nakusp under investigation

A house fire in Nakusp on Monday, March 4 was declared a loss by the Nakusp & District Volunteer Fire Department.

The fire occurred on 4th St. Around noon, which was responded to by the fire department. Nakusp & District Volunteer Fire Department Fire Chief, Terry Warren, said in an email that the entire family of five were able to make it out safely.

The family is being helped by Emergency Support Services.

It’s unclear what caused the fire to start, but Warren said it’s still under investigation.
