Looking to declutter and score some secondhand gems?
The Regional District of Central Kootenay and the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary are bringing back Trash-to-Treasure days just in time for spring cleaning.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 26 to take part in the fun as part of Earth Week. Residents are invited to leave unwanted household items at the curb for others to pick up, all in the name of reducing landfill waste. It’s a win-win for spring cleaners and treasure hunters alike.
Participation is simple: gather the giveaways, set them out to be easily visible from the curb (make sure not to obstruct traffic), and add a sign to show it's free for the taking. Printable signs can be found on the RDCK's website. Any unclaimed items must be removed by 4 p.m.
Another Trash-to-Treasure day will be held in the fall on Saturday, October 18 during Waste Reduction Week.
