Revelstoke students perform dark comedy, ‘Usher’

The play will take place at Revelstoke’s Performing Arts Centre

On a dark and stormy night, a bus breaks down, leaving a group of teenagers stranded in a haunted house will be the scene set on Revelstoke’s Performing Arts Centre’s stage.

The play, Usher: A total teen comedy is being put on by Revelstoke Secondary School’s (RSS) drama class, under the direction of beloved high school teacher, Theresa Browning.

There will be two shows on June 3 and June 4.

Written by Flip Kobler and Cindy Marcus, the dark comedy is loosely based on Edgar Allan Poe’s The Fall of the House of Usher and touches on issues known all too well to teens such as loneliness and peer pressure.

For those interested in attending the show, they can purchase tickets at RSS and the door. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and the curtain will be at 7 p.m.
