The Old Firehall Collective received a special delivery on Friday.

The garden and farming equipment that they had applied for through the Community Initiative Program from Columbia Basin Trust arrived following a grant of $17,284.

The collective will now work on developing policy for the residents of Nakusp and Area and these machines. Once that has been done, the equipment will be available for use.

Providing delivery and education about the different machines was Pat Brownell, sales manager of Savoy Equipment.

Brownell said that in situations where a non-profit or like organization is looking for equipment, Savoy is happy to work with them on various benefit programs, providing a fair price. The board members in attendance said they felt they got a great deal and were very pleased.
