The 2014 Community Literacy Award was presented posthumously to the family of Vikki Zinselmeyer in recognition of her valued work with the Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy (CBAL).
Zinselmeyer volunteered as a math tutor and was committed to CBAL’s Books Everywhere Program. She demonstrated a passion for lifelong learning, reading and writing through her volunteering, tutoring, active involvement in a book club and poetry writing.
A tea at the library was held on May 25 to honor the memory of Zinselmeyer.
