This week's historic photo is of a postcard from Lily Lane of Burton to her mother, Nettie Masters of Apsley, Ontario, Feb. 13, 1911. Postcard depicts the Lane family (left) and two other families on the porch of the Lane home at Burton, May 1910. Inscription: 'Dear Mother: I read your most welcome letter yesterday. I will write tomorrow if nothing prevents, have three boarders just now, so am quite busy. This is a picture of the front of our house our family on the rustic seat. Love, May. This was taken in May when Tom was home, but I just got them a week or so ago.' Nettie Masters would move to Nakusp in 1913. Lane family at left, L-R: Norma Lane, Tom Lane, Theo Lane, Lily Lane.
