The second annual Burton Wine and Unwind Event on Saturday, February 26th was a success.
There were sixteen entries in the wine judging part of the affair, ten of which won certificates of merit. The overall winner was Margret Simpson who won awards for her Huckleberry, Hawthorne and Blackberry wines.
The evening saw attendance of more than 50 people who enjoyed an excellent community pot luck supper followed by the showing of JoAnne Alaric’s award-winning documentary film ‘Our Bus’. Local musicians of “Colin’s Oscopy” performed and the evening ended with some Karaoke fun organized by Brenda Beurge.
It was a great way to break up the monotony of winter.
