Minto at Galena Bay, May - 1968: The lonely ruins of the SS Minto sit on the shores of Galena Bay in May 1968, having spent 12 years on the beach at the old John Nelson farm. In August, the boat would given a Viking funeral in the middle of the bay, a sad end for a grand boat. A new Arrow Lakes Historical Society book on the history of the Minto is scheduled to be published later this year. (Arrow Lakes Historical Society)
