We are deeply saddened by the loss of Peter Robert Holland, who passed away suddenly in the early hours of Sunday, November 6th, 2016 at the age of 75. Peter had suffered with congestive heart failure and Parkinson’s Disease since 2013, but was inconsolable with grief after the death of his beloved wife and soul mate Ruby Holland on March 1st 2016.

He leaves behind his brother Michael, his children, James (Pamela), Jacqueline and Jennifer, and his six grandchildren Emily, Aaron, Shawn, Lilly, Robert and Sophie.

Peter was born on April 10th 1941 in Llandyssul, Wales, and was the eldest son of his parents Arthur and Silvia Holland. He grew up in the small village of Weobley in Herefordshire, England, where he married Ruby in May 1964.

He immigrated to Canada in 1978, where he enjoyed an extremely successful engineering career, registered as a Chartered Engineer and member of both the Institute of Mechanical and Structural Engineers in the United Kingdom, and registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGA and APEGBC in Canada.

His career allowed him to travel throughout Canada during his lifetime, living with his family in Quebec, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Alberta before eventually settling down in Nakusp, British Columbia in 1995. He was a gifted carpenter and homebuilder. He will be sorely missed by his family, and remembered as a dedicated husband, father and Grandpa who loved his family and grandchildren dearly.
