Harold Wesley (Wes) SHAW

June 22, 2004

Harold Wesley Shaw (Wes) passed away at the Kelowna General Hospital following a lengthy illness on June 22, 2004 at the age of 73. Wes was born in New Westminster May 7, 1931. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Alice, daughter in-law Pearl of Kamloops, sister Norma (Jim) of New Denver, granddaughters Carolyne (Kevin) of Kamloops, Marian (Scott) of Burton, Wanda (Dan) of Nakusp, Dorothy (Wade) of Burton, seven great grandchildren (his pride and joy) Meagan, Tiara, Brandon, Kimberly, Cody, Kyle, Kylee and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Barry, brother Gary, parents George and Louella and his niece Susan.

Two of his favourite past times were spending time in the Yukon with his wife and family fishing as well as gold mining. He was always willing to share a story or two about the claim in his hunt to find the “big one”. The other was gathering with “his girls” (granddaughters). This always brought a twinkle to his eye and a smile to his face.

Anyone that knew him knew how stubborn he was and this was apparent in his daily struggle to live. He battled each problem head on and with little complaint. We can now say that he finally is able to rest peacefully.

“We love and miss you Gramps!”

A Memorial Service followed by a Tea will be held on Friday, July 2, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the Robertson United Church.
