The new foot bridge at the Nakusp Hot Springs is open to visitors, earlier than its anticipated end-of-week date. Originally it was thought that landscaping would mean the bridge would open this Friday, but it is ready now.
The bridge has been a long time in the coming, but visitors may find it was worth the wait. Gone are the planks and wire fencing: a covered bridge with seating and glass viewing panels now spans the Kuskanax. On a hot day, it's a great place to spend some time.
An official opening will take place on Aug. 17, and more details about that are to follow.
