Mobility scooter stolen during medical emergency

A mobility scooter was stolen while its owner was in hospital with a medical emergency last week.

The theft occurred Oct. 9 along Nicol Street near the man’s residence, according to a Crime Stoppers unsolved crimes report provided by Nanaimo RCMP.

“The owner told police he had suffered a roadside medical emergency roadside and was transported to local hospital, and was forced to leave his scooter behind. When he was discharged from the hospital his scooter was gone,” the report noted.

The electric scooter that was stolen is a red four-wheel Shoprider Landcruiser with an attached canopy.
