The Arrow Lakes ATV Club celebrated for several reasons on June 18.

Adding to the tradition of their Annual Father’s Day Poker Run, they included a Canada 150 Celebration as well as marking their 10th year as a society.

Despite a rainy lead-up to the Sunday ride, the day turned out to be perfect for the event. There was some sun, some clouds, some mud, very little dust and lots of fun.

Sixty-three participants on 55 machines rode the 100 km route, marked along the way with numerous point-to-point items. These items featured red and white colours to celebrate Canada’s 150 birthday. The Canadian flag was one of the items on the route and the last item, at the campsite, was Montie the Mountie on his sturdy steed, Butterball.

A barbecue followed the ride and was enjoyed by all.

Prizes were awarded with the first place poker hand going to Glen Olson, our oldest participant. The second place hand was won by Dave Buckrell and third place went to Kattie Gerrard.
